What Are The Methods Of Induction Heating?

Jan 17, 2022

The induction heating method is to transmit electric energy to the heated metal workpiece through the induction coil, and then the electric energy is converted into heat energy inside the metal workpiece. The induction coil of the evaluated induction heating is not in direct contact with the metal workpiece, and the energy is transmitted through electromagnetic induction, so everyone calls this heating method induction heating. What are the methods of induction heating?

1. Electromagnetic induction heating

In the heat treatment of thick-walled tubes in this way, the heat source first radiates heat from the heating element to the outer wall of the tube, and then conducts heat from the outer surface of the outer wall to the inner wall. Due to the heat transfer and heat dissipation in the length direction of the pipeline, a large temperature difference is generated between the inner and outer walls. The temperature of the part of the tube radially away from the center of the heating source (the root of the weld) is quite different from the outer surface temperature of the tube, which can reduce the power loss in the coil and improve the electrical efficiency of the device. In the process of induction heating, the temperature of each point inside the metal workpiece changes from time to time. The greater the power of the induction heating, the shorter the heating time, the higher the surface temperature of the metal workpiece. If the induction heating time is long, the temperature of the surface and center of the metal workpiece tends to be averaged through heat conduction.

2. Flexible ceramic electric heating

Flexible ceramic induction heating equipment is composed of flexible ceramic electric heating and its temperature measurement and control equipment, which is a device that uses electrical energy to excite radiant energy and perform heating. When the ceramic material (including paint) of the induction heater has high far-infrared radiation performance and can give full play to the characteristics of radiation heating, it is called a far-infrared electric heater. The principle of flexible ceramic sheet resistance heating is to apply far-infrared radiation for heating.

All in all, induction heating methods include electromagnetic induction heating and flexible ceramic electric heating. The selection of reliable induction heating equipment is determined according to the process requirements and size of the heated workpiece. According to the material, size, heating area, heating depth, heating temperature, heating time and other process requirements of the workpiece to be heated, comprehensive calculation and analysis are carried out to determine the technical parameters such as the power, frequency and induction coil of the induction heating equipment.
