Is Solution Annealing Of Stainless Steel Pipe Fittings Necessary?
Jul 28, 2023

Stainless steel welded pipes are widely used, and the technical requirements of different industries are also different. Sometimes annealing is used. Do you know the effect of annealing treatment on stainless steel welded pipe?
1. Demagnetization: Annealing treatment makes the structure and composition of the steel pipe uniform, so that the chemical composition is distributed in the pipe, so that the pipe after cold processing is demagnetized. The stainless steel tubes used in high-precision parts need to be degaussed.
2. Reduce hardness and improve toughness: annealing treatment restores the distorted lattice in the pipe, recrystallizes broken grains, eliminates internal stress, and eliminates work hardening, thereby reducing the hardness of the pipe, increasing the toughness of the pipe, and improving the processing performance of the pipe. It is more convenient to use in subsequent product processing.
3. Improve corrosion resistance: due to carbide precipitation and lattice defects caused by cold working, the corrosion resistance of stainless steel is reduced. After annealing treatment, the corrosion resistance of stainless steel pipes can be improved. Used for fluid conveying pipelines such as food hygiene.

Different processes require different effects, such as: argon arc welding, polishing, wire drawing, etc. Some have improved decorative performance, while others have stronger corrosion resistance.
