How to prevent heat treatment deformation

The faster the cooling rate of the heat treatment of the metal through the high-frequency heating machine, the more uneven the cooling will be, the greater the stress will be, and the greater the deformation of the mold will be. After the mold is deformed, it will also seriously affect the quality and service life of the mold. The following editors will introduce you to the methods of preventing heat treatment deformation:


1. Temperature

In the process of quenching and tempering or normalizing, we need to use station equipment and keep the furnace temperature uniform. For uniform cooling of the workpieces, do not stack them together, it is recommended to separate them. During the production process of the high-frequency heating machine, please select the appropriate temperature according to different materials, and control the temperature within a certain range.


2. Reduce deformation

In order to reduce deformation, tooth surface induction quenching equipment should use relatively low quenching temperature and short uniform heating, slow cooling and heating time.


3. Drilling

Gears that need to be drilled to reduce weight are drilled after heat treatment with a high-frequency heater.


4. Final heat treatment

The final heat treatment of the gear adopts high-frequency quenching of the tooth surface that makes the deformation of the part smaller; the tooth surface obtained after passing through the high-frequency quenching equipment has high wear resistance, hardness, strength and fatigue limit, but the core still maintains sufficient plasticity and toughness.
