1) The surface quenching process time is short, can achieve digital precise control, simple process flow, can complete the quenching, tempering process, so that the mechanization and automation of the equipment is high, modern induction quenching equipment has been arranged in the cold, hot processing production line or automatic production line. Therefore, it can improve the production efficiency and other advantages.
2) The heat treatment hardening effect is significant, the heat treatment deformation is small, the subsequent processing allowance is reduced, and the effect of energy saving and consumption reduction is achieved.
3) For the parts quenched by induction heating, the quenched layer can form a considerable residual compressive stress, the maximum value of which can reach 539 ~ 784MPa. Practice has proved that the fatigue strength of the parts has a significant corresponding relationship with the surface compressive stress value, that is, the compressive stress is large, the fatigue strength and fatigue life are improved. Now take the Jiejiebrand automobile axle as an example, the surface residual compressive stress of the semi-shaft after tempering treatment is 245 ~ 343MPa, and the surface residual compressive stress of the semi-shaft after induction quenching is 343 ~ 539MPa. Under the action of torque 7811k·m, the fatigue torsion life of the former is (18.96 ~ 42.3)×104 times. The latter is (112 ~ 300)×104 times, an increase of 6 ~ 7 times. The fatigue strength of the former is 162.68MPa, the latter is 311.64MPa, and the fatigue strength is increased by 92%.
Therefore, it is widely used in production.
4) Induction heat treatment is a clean heat treatment: due to the development of quenching medium, induction hardening heating can not use oil cooling medium, but use water-soluble medium quenching, water quenching, and even air cooling quenching, can achieve a smokeless environment.
